Camp Beaver

Last weekend we went to Camp Beaver up Ogden Canyon for a little Gibson family reunion. The kids had a great time and so did Max. He wasn't quite sure what was going on and very nervous he was going to get left somewhere; anytime we opened the car door to get something he would hurry and jump in.

The Fray Concert

On Saturday Amy and I went to the Fray concert at the Usana Ampitheatre, an outdoor concert arena. It was a great concert and a lot of fun to be "kidless" for a while. "Jack's Mannequin" was the opening act. I did get lost a couple times driving home, but luckily Amy had GPS so it wasn't too bad. We also got to try out a new mall down in Salt Lake and eat at the Cheesecake Factory. Fun, fun, fun!

The Frontrunner

On Friday Amy and I took the kids down to the Gateway by way of the Frontrunner. My kids wanted to ride the "fast train" so bad and they love to play in the water display down at the Gateway. It was a little frantic at time with 6 kids, but all in all, it was a good day and the kids had a great time.

Treehouse Museum

Scott took Tayden to Scout Camp last week so I told the other kids I would take them somewhere fun and they picked the Treehouse. It was a lot of fun and good to just let the kids do whatever they wanted to do. Ashton loved the train set and the castle set; Ambree loved to do the puppets and art projects.

Raptors Game

We were able to take the kids to a Raptors Game and got front row seats. Ambree and Ashton got to bring a friend, but lost interest in the game pretty quickly. Next time we will leave the little ones at home so we can enjoy the game.

4th of July

We celebrated the 4th of July this year basically the same as we do every year. We started off by having all the young men in Scott's young mens group for breakfast after they put up all the flags then the kids rode their bikes in the parade. Tayden is getting to the age where it isn't "cool" to ride his bike anymore, so he rode on his uncle Tom's float, Ambree rode her decorated bike with her friend Gretchen and Ashton, who had decorated his bike, opted to ride with his aunt Linda on the 4 wheeler instead. Then we went to watch Tayden play in a basketball 3 v 3 with a few of his friends- they did a great job. They won one game but lost another so they were out. We then took the kids to see Ice Age 3 with some friends which was really cute, then back to the park to eat souvlaki and wait for the fireworks. It was a lot of fun hanging out with the family and watching the kids run around with their friends.

Fishing at the cabin

We went fishing up to my mom and dad's cabin in Sunridge last week. There is a cool pond up there where the fish are planted so that kids have a chance catching a fish. Ambree caught the most with 4 fish, Tayden caught 3, and Ashton caught 8 (if you ask him. I think he actually caught 3.) Ambree was missing her cousin Chloe so we picked her up from the babysitters and brought her up with us. She is such a cutie. Her and Ambree have quite a connection. The kids were a little disappointed that they didn't see any animals on the way up, but on the way back home we saw a moose! Tayden spotted him for us.
